Peter Evans - Head PGA Professional

Peter began playing golf as junior member at the neighbouring golf course of Pyle and Kenfig. At 15 years of age he became a Welsh boys international and in 1982 joined Graham Poor at Royal Porthcawl as an assistant trainee professional.

Having been elected to full PGA status in 1985, he spent 6 years playing competitive golf in Wales, The West Region, The Sunshine Tour (South Africa), The Safari Tour (Mid Africa) and The European Tour.

In 1991 Peter left his friend and mentor Graham Poor at Royal Porthcawl and was appointed as the Head Professional at Kingsdown Golf Club near Bath. In just 21 months he returned as the Head Professional when his peer, Graham Poor, tragically lost his life in an air crash. In doing so he became only the fourth professional in the club's long and illustrious history.

Since then Peter has held many coaching positions at club, county and international level. In 1998 he represented Wales in the 3 man PGA of Europe team championships in Spain. Peter represents South Wales on the West Region PGA Committee, was Captain of the S.W.P.G.A. in 1998 and captain of the West Region PGA in 2000.

In 2007 Peter placed 2nd in the Welsh PGA Pros championship at Cardiff Golf Club and with that came the opportunity to represent Wales in the 3 man PGA of Europe team championships. He also qualified to play in the 2008 European Tour Welsh Open at Celtic Manor where he narrowly missed the cut alongside Alvaro Quiros and Pablo Martin.

PGA West Region Golf Club Professional of the year 2014. Senior Open Championship Competitor at Sunningdale 2015.
